Zinio Bodegas featured in the Rioja 2026 Special Report by Tim Atkin MW

Congratulations to Zinio Bodegas for the results in the recent Tim Atkin Rioja 2026 Special Report. View the full report here

Founded in 1986, ZINIO Bodegas is a cooperative of 200 viticulturists that not only owns its vineyards but also meticulously manages every step of the winemaking process, ensuring quality from vine to bottle. Based in Rioja Alta, in the Najerilla Valley, their 450 hectares of vineyards are shaped by the Sierra Cantabria, Sierra de la Demanda, and the Ebro River and its tributaries, the Najerilla River and Yalde River. Guided by winemaker Carmelo Cámara, their wines express the character of the terroir, the soul of Rioja Alta, and their commitment to quality. At ZINIO Bodegas, they believe that wine is born in the vineyard, and this philosophy drives everything they do.

Zinio Terroir de Zinio 2019 - 92 Points

Reserva (14%)

The sort of wine that ought to inspire other co-operatives, this is a Tempranillo that uses fruit from 72 different parcels in and around Uruñuela. Aged in equal amounts of French and American oak, it’s floral, textured and appealingly balsamic, with plenty of fresh acidity, top notes of espresso coffee and sweet spices and a lingering finish. 2026-31

Zinio Sreet Art Collection Las Meninas Tempranillo Blanco 2023 - 91 Points

Genérico (14%)

Made in collaboration with consultant Norrel Robertson MW, this is one of the better Tempranillo Blancos on the market, offered at an attractive price. Fermented in 500-litre French, American and acacia barrels, it has melon and pineapple fruit flavours and enough acidity to prevent the wine from cloying. Up a point from last year. 2026-29
