Awin Barratt Siegel Expands California Portfolio with Rutherford Hill Winery

Awin Barratt Siegel Wine Agencies (ABS) is expanding its USA portfolio once again, with the addition of Rutherford Hill Winery in the Napa Valley, part of the Terlato family of wineries. This is the third new addition ABS has made to their USA portfolio in 2020, with two Washington State wineries joining earlier in the year. The ABS stable now represents seven wineries running the length of the West Coast.
Rutherford Hill was founded in Rutherford, Napa in 1972, where the original owners believed that the climate and soil of the valley were well suited to Merlot, similar to Pomerol. In 1996, the Terlato family purchased the Rutherford Hill winery and embraced its legendary commitment to quality over quantity. Today, 75% of production is dedicated to Merlot. Winemaker Marisa Taylor continues to craft beautiful wines and is 100% committed to sustainable winegrowing and winemaking practices.

Crafted from grapes grown in the cooler climate of southern Napa Valley creating a wine with striking balance and structure. Low volume, cool vineyards keep fruit from over-ripening and allows for a balanced taste profile
Rutherford Hill Barrel Select 2016, Napa (RRP: £39.50)
Tasting Note
Made from Bordeaux varietals, yet Merlot driven, this wine showcases the depth, range, and elegance of the vineyards. French oak barrels cradle each harvest within the estate caves providing a unique and enhancing environment.
Rutherford Hill Merlot 2016, Napa (RRP: £39.95)
Tasting Note
85% Merlot but blended with other classic Bordeaux varietals to produce a high-quality Napa Valley Merlot. Gently aged in one of Napa’s most extensive cave systems, the winery can influence every aspect of the wine and produce the highest quality possible.
Rutherford Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2015/16, Napa (RRP: £56.20)

Produced with over 70% estate grown fruit from Napa Valley vineyards mostly located in the Rutherford AVA, then gently aged in one of Napa’s most extensive cave systems
