2025 Robert Weil Sky Blue Riesling Dry

Weingut Robert Weil

Rheingau

Pale straw yellow with brilliant clarity. The nose displays classic aromas of ripe yellow apple, white peach, citrus zest and juicy vineyard peach, complimented by delicate floral notes and a subtle hint of wet stone minerality. On the palate, the wine is fresh, elegant and well-balanced with lively acidity, fine fruit concentration and a distinctive mineral backbone. The finish is long, crisp and refreshing.

Viticulture

The grapes for this classic Rheingau Riesling are sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Rheingau, one of Germany's most renowned wine-growing regions. The vineyards benefit from steep south-facing slopes along the Rhine River, providing optimal sun exposure while the river moderates temperatures and extends the growing season. The Rheingau is characterized by a remarkable diversity of soil structures, including slate, quartzite, loess and clay-rich formations. These varied terroirs provide excellent drainage, encourage deep root development and contribute to the elegance, finesse and distinctive mineral expression found in Rheingau Rieslings. The combination of different soil types across the region adds complexity, structure, and balance to the wines, reflecting the unique character of each vineyard site.

Vinification

After a gentle pressing, the must is clarified by natiural sedimentation before undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation, primarily in stainless steel tanks. This method preserves the purity of the fruit, vibrant acidity and the delicate aromatic profile typical of Rheingau Riesling. The wine remains on its fine lees for several weeks, enhancing texture and complexity while maintaining freshness. Careful maturation and minimal intervention allow the terroir and varietal character to shine through

Recommendation

Pairs well with fresh fish and many other lighter dishes. A versatile food, wine and an authentic expression of classic Rheingau Riesling.
