2025 Robert Weil Jnr Pinot Blanc

Weingut Robert Weil

Rheinhessen

Bright and clear with a pale yellow colour. The bouquet is elegant and refined, offering delicate aromas of pear, yellow apple and fresh citrus, complemented by subtle floral notes and a hint of almond. A gentle mineral character adds freshness and complexity to the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is dry, harmonious and beautifully balanced, combining a fine acidity with a smooth texture and a subtle fruit expression. Flavours of ripe apple, pear and citrus are complemented by a delicate creaminess and a fresh mineral finish. The wine shows excellent elegance and drinkability with a clean, lingering finish.

Viticulture

This Pinot Blanc originates from carefully selected vineyards in Rheinhessen, one of Germany's most versatile and dynamic wine-growing regions. The region's diverse landscapes, ranging from gentle slopes to sheltered hillside sites, provide excellent conditions for producing elegant and expressive Pinot Blancs with finesse, balance and a refined structure. Rheinhessen's vineyards are shaped by a wide range of soil formations, including limestone, marl, loess and clay-rich soils. Limestone and marl are particularly well suited for Pinot Blanc, contributing freshness, elegance and a subtle mineral character, while loess and clay support balanced ripening and add texture, roundness and depth to the wines. These diverse terroirs allow Pinot Blanc to develop its characteristic combination of delicate fruit, subtle complexity and harmonious structure. Sustainable vineyard practices, careful canopy management and precise yield control ensure healthy grapes with optimal ripeness and concentration. The grapes are harvested at the ideal maturity to preserve freshness while developing the refined aromas and balanced boy typical of high quality Pinot Blanc.

Vinification

The grapes are gently pressed as whole clusters to extract the delicate aromas and preserve the purity of the fruit. After careful clarification, fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures, primarily in stainless steel tanks, to maintain freshness and varietal elegance. Gentle vinification and careful maturation preserve the wine's freshness and varietal purity, allowing the elegant fruit character and the influence of the Rheinhessen terroir to be fully expressed.

Recommendation

Moderate alcohol levels and a mouth-watering drinkability make it as equally appealing solo as it is with food – from the first glass to the last!
