Weingut Robert Weil

Rheinhessen

Bright and clear with a pale yellow colour. The bouquet is fresh and precise, showing aromas of green apple, white peach, citrus zest and delicate floral notes, complemented by subtle herbal nuances and a fine mineral character. On the palate, the wine is dry, elegant and refreshing, combining crisp acidity with a balanced fruit profile and a refined structure. Flavours of apple, citrus and stone fruit are complemented by a subtle minerality, creating a wine with both freshness and depth. The finish is clean, lively and persistent, highlighting the classic elegance of Rheinhessen Riesling.

Viticulture

This Dry Riesling originates from carefully selected vineyards in Rheinhessen, one of Germany's most important and diverse wine-growing regions. Known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills" Rheinhessen offers a wide variety of vineyard sites, from gentle slopes to more exposed hillside locations, creating ideal conditions for producing Rieslings with freshness, structure, and distinctive mineral character. The region's geological diversity is reflected in its vineyards, with soils including limestone, marl, loess and clay-rich formations. Limestone and marl soils are particularly significant for Riesling, contributing finesse, elegance and a subtle mineral expression, while loess and clay provide depth, structure and balanced water supply during the growing season. These diverse soils allow the vines to develop complex aromas while maintaining the vibrant acidity and precision that define Rheinhessen Riesling.
Sustainable viticulture, careful canopy management and precise vineyard work ensure healthy grapes with excellent aromatic potential. Selective harvesting at optimal ripeness allows the grapes to achieve a harmonious balance between fruit intensity, freshness and natural acidity.

Vinification

The grapes are gently pressed to preserve the purity and freshness of the Riesling fruit. After careful clarification, fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures, in stainless steel tanks, to maintain the wine's vibrant aromas and precise varietal expression. The wine is fermented completely dry, allowing the natural character of the vineyards and the Riesling grape variety to take centre stage. Maturation on fine lees adds subtle texture, complexity and depth while preserving the wine's freshness and mineral-driven character. Minimal intervention during the winemaking process ensures a clear and authentic expression of Rheinhessen terroir.
