Rheinhessen
Light ruby red with brilliant clarity. The bouquet reveals delicate aromas of red cherries, raspberries and ripe strawberries complemented by subtle floral notes, hints of spice and a touch of earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine is dry, refined and well balanced, showing a harmonious interplay between fresh red fruit, elegant tannins and a lively acidity. Flavours of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant are complemented by subtle notes of herbs, spice and a gentle mineral character. The texture is smooth and polished, leading to a fresh persistend finish with excellent finesse.
Viticulture
This Pinot Noir originates from carefully selected vineyards in Rheinhessen, one of Germany's most dynamic and diverse wine-growing regions. The region's varied landscapes, from gently rolling hills to well-exposed slopes, provide excellent conditions for cultivating Pinot Noir with elegance, finesse, and a harmonious balance between fruit, structure and freshness. Rheinhessen's vineyards are characterised by a broad range of soil structures, including limestone, marl, loess and clay-rich soils. Limestone and marl are especially significant for Pinot Noir, contributing elegance, fine acidity and a subtle mineral character, while loess and clay provide structure, depth and balanced ripening conditions. These diverse terroirs support the development of Pinot Noir's characteristic aromas of red berries, delicate spice and refined complexity. Sustainable vineyard management, careful canopy work and precise yield control ensure healthy grapes with concentrated flavours and balanced ripeness. The grapes are harvested selectively at optimal maturity to preserve the variety's natural freshness while achieving the depth and structure required for an expressive Pinot Noir.
Vinification
The grapes are gently destemmed and carefully selected before fermentation. A controlled maceration period allows for the gentle extraction of colour,k tannins and aromatic compounds while preserving the elegance and finesse of the Pinot Noir variety. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, followed by careful maturation to integrate the wine's structure and develop additional complexity. The wine is matured in stainless steel tanks and wooden vessels, allowing the fruit purity and subtle terroir expression to remain at the forefront. Gentle handling throughout the winemaking process ensures a balanced and elegant Pinot Noir with refined tannins and a smooth texture.
