2021 Stanton & Killeen Terra Mãe

"Our wine is of the motherland. It's the soils on our boots, it's the long shadows cast by the bright summer sun. It's the cool night air from the high country settling on the undulations of Rutherglen. It's out purple-stained hands during vintage from the endless toil and pursuit of creation. This wine is a sum of it's parts, from us to you".

Estate grown blend of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cão, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional. The colour is of a youthful bright purple/red. A good aroma combination of red berry aromas with a mix of cedar and cinnamon wood spices. The taste will give a seamless blend of the four Iberian varieties. With flavours of plums, cherries and a little milk chocolate on the finish. Soft tannins are balanced with the medium bodied fruit weight. The middle palate is enhanced by the addition of Tinito Cão, rare in Australia, which gives the wine a great body.

Aged in oak for 6 months before bottling.

Recommendation

This is a food friendly style well matched to grills and roasts. Try it with some good quality pork sausages.

This is a light to medium bodied wine to enjoy young and fresh. Short term cellaring for up to 5 years will enhance the integration of the flavours in this blend.
