2021 Bodegas Bianchi Gran Famiglia Bianchi Malbec

Bodegas Bianchi

Uco Valley, Mendoza

Deep color, with a nuance of beautiful violet flashes, highlighting this wine’s power and vivacity. The nose is intense and outstandingly fresh. Aromas of red fruits, such as cherries and fresh plums, accompanied by hints of spices and flowers, are perfectly balanced with the vanilla and dark chocolate notes acquired during its 10-month aging in French oak. A sweet entry into the mouth, distinctive of Malbec, can be appreciated, accompanied by a very good volume on the palate: fatty, fleshy, with very good structure and complexity. Wine of balanced acidity, which allows it to express exquisite freshness. Round, sweet tannins, with a harmonious and balanced finish. The aging potential of this wine will allow it to last over time with an excellent development.

Viticulture

A single vineyard Malbec from the Enzo Estate vineyard, some 20 years old. Micro-terroir embraced by the immensity of the Andes Mountains, with soils of alluvial origin, great presence of boulders of various sizes, and poor in organic matter. Altitude of approximately 1,300 meters (3,600 ft) above sea level, granting the vines vast thermal amplitude. The water used is obtained directly from pure, high-quality snowmelt. This water is collected in a dam located in the highest area of the vineyard, from where a drip irrigation system achieves proper water management for the whole vineyard.

Vinification

50% of the wine was aged for 12 months in second and third use french oak barrels
