Villa Wolf Pinot Blanc is made in a dry style with fresh unoaked fruit and a crisp texture. Germany also has the most planted area of Pinot Blanc in the world, where the grape is also known as Weißburgunder.
The Pfalz region is in the Rhine river valley in southwest Germany, directly north of Franc's Alsace region. The low-lying Haardt mountains protect the area from cold, wet Atlantic weather, making it one of the warmer and drier areas of Germany.
Viticulture
The 2020 vintage started out quite rainy, which was actually a welcome blessing for the vines and the soil after two very dry years, and it gave us a very positive start. From May onward, the weather showed its beautiful side with moderate temperatures and sufficient rainfall. In general, the summer nights remained cool until July. This has a positive effect on the growth of the vine and aroma expression.
Vinification
Temperature controlled stainless steel vinification
