2020 Louis Guntrum Gewürztraminer Dry

Gewürztraminer – small berries of red color produce premium qualities due to very limited yields. The wine is always white. Grown since 1500 A.D. Delicate fragrance of rose pedals and spices. Dry with soft acidity.


Viticulture

Loam and clay. Vineyards on top of the hills. Heavy soil with excellent absorptive capacity for rain water. Hilly vineyard area, mostly loam soil. Natural cultivation; limited yields through reduced pruning; limited use of fertilizers and chemicals. Yield of less than 3.500 liters per hectar.


Vinification

Gentle pressing, natural sedimentation, temperature controlled fermentation at 15°C in stainless steel, one filtration only, ageing in stainless steel. Total production: 2.300 cases


Recommendation

Reviving aperitif, heavy appetizers, various cheeses.
