Domaine D'Ardhuy
Côte de Nuits, Burgundy
This wine shows an appearance of a clear, pale yellow colour. On the nose this smells of white-fleshed fruits such as apples and pears. On the palate there is a firm attack to start with but then it is fresh and delicious. There is no oak used in this wine.
Viticulture
The vines are gown on a mixture of clay and limestone soil called "rendzine" on top of compacted limestone. The soil is not deep or fertile but is well drained and heats up quickly. These vines are particularly young at 30 years but are well balanced and not too vigorous. This perfectly South facing plot benefits from ideal sun exposure. The altitude is around 390m above the village of Savigny-lès-Beune.
Vinification
According to vintage conditions.
Recommendation
This wine is particularly great as an aperitif but also goes well with a snack of some fresh cheese!
