Viticulture
The viticulture for Casa Silva Altura red blend involves hand-harvesting grapes from pre-selected plots on the Los Lingues Estate in the Colchagua Valley, which is located at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The estate's soil is a mix of volcanic rock and other minerals, providing a specific micro-terroir that influences the final blend.
Vinification
Casa Silva Altura red blend vinification involves hand-picked grapes, pre-selection from specific micro-terroir plots on the Los Lingues Estate, and a blend of Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. Following harvest and cooling, the grapes are aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 14-24 months, followed by several years of bottle aging before release.
