The 2019 Estate Shiraz is a blend of high-quality parcels of fruit from the Four Winds and Wallaroo vineyards. Having gradually steered away from the inclusion of Viognier, the 2019 Estate Shiraz is 100% Shiraz. This release summarises the qualities of the vintage nicely, and I feel serves as a great illustration of regional style; vibrant, intensely aromatic, medium in weight across the palate, with that regional combination of dark fruit and higher spice notes enclosed in that glove of velvety tannin.
Vinification
This wine was fermented in open top tanks with a combination of naturally occurring and cultured yeast, prior to 14 months maturation in French oak barrels - approximately 25% of these were new.
