2018 Jean Stodden Dernauer Hardtberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs

Jean Stodden, Das Rotweingut

Ahr

Fine fruit-acid game. The harmoniously integrated acidity is typical of the location. Subtle tannins emphasize the pure, ripe fruit. Long and lasting in the finish.

Viticulture

located in the neighbouring town of Dernau. Crossed by small side valleys, the Pinot Noir grapes thrive here in the best southern exposure. A mixture of slate and greywacke that stores the heat of the sun for cooler days. The somewhat sheltered location gives the wine its fruity aroma.

Vinification

The hand-picked and strictly selected Pinot Noir grapes ferment for 17 days in the mash tank. The malolactic fermentation took place in barrique barrels. The Hardtberg was expanded and stored in 100% new barrique barrels for 18 months.

Not filtered we recommend decanting.
