2018 Division-Villages L'Isle Verte Chenin Blanc

Division Winemaking Co.

Washington

Flinty, smoky, with notes of fresh green grass and wild flowers, this wine is reminiscent of dry Vouvray or Anjou Blanc with all the impressive acidity of Loire Valley Chenin. More about mineral than fruit notes, the mid and back palate are all earth and stones overlaid by delicate honeysuckle notes. The finish is long with abundant citrus pith.

Viticulture

From Willard Farm in the Columbia Valley. Organic and conventional farming practices, and spot irrigation as needed. From own-rooted vines planted in 1979.

Vinification

Fermented using a pied de cuve, native build-up fermentation process in neutral Burgundy barrels and stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation finished to balance the wine's naturally racy acidity.
