2018 Bodegas Chaves Cinco Islas Oro

Bodegas Chaves

"It is reminiscent of the pure winds in the Atlantic Galician Hills. To the smell of seaweed and seashells and the soft fragrance that floods the fields of aniseed and spearmint..." Light bright straw yellow in colour with an expressive nose reminiscent of a sea breeze, reflecting the proximity of the vineyards to the sea. Crisp and dry, but with a rich complexity, hints of pears and citrus, full bodied finishing with brisk acidity and saline notes. Long and elegant

Viticulture

This Albariño wine is the result of a thorough selection of grapes stemming from a 200 years old vine stock clone, belonging to our family, giving us credit as the First Growers of Albariño wine in Cambados. History teaches us. Years of endurance, victories, calm before the
storm, years of oblivion and starting back again, years of serenity… These vines have seen it all!

From its location at the Atlantic hills, being deeply rooted to the soil and completely adapted to their natural environment, the maturity of our vines reveals the memory of the terroir and the highest quality of their grape variety.

Vinification

This wine is produced from the free-run juice of selected grapes by carrying out a bâtonnage with its fine lees, aiming to an optimal balance between the freshness of the primary aromas and the bouquet of its bottle ageing period. An organoleptic harmony is reached after a careful elaboration process, which preserves its full expression over 5 years and an aging potential of up to 10 years.
