2016 Louis Guntrum Orbel - Louis Guntrum Grosses Gewächs

LOUIS GUNTRUM GROSSES GEWÄCHS® represents the top-end of the new LOUIS GUNTRUM classification. This wine is born and raised in one of Germany’s most famous vineyard, which is integral part of the Red Hill vineyards („Roter Hang“) in Nierstein. Vines more than 40 years old, planted in steep slopes overlooking the Rhein river at up to 50° gradient, achieve a naturally limited yield of only 35hl/ha (less than 1 t/acre). We have hand-harvested these golden-yellow and ultimately ripe grapes and processed with ultimate care. Such wines need time to develop and mature.
