Medium dark crimson with purple tints. The aroma exhibits red berry fruit with spicy/peppery notes, and vanilla oak. Medium bodied showing sweet fruit and soft tannins, the palate has excellent depth and length of flavour while showing great structure.
Viticulture
Redman focuses on red varieties, with a significant amount of its 84 acres of vineyards
Vinification
The wines are fermented to dryness on skins, which usually takes five days. They are then run off the skins, and the skins are pressed. These pressings are added straight back to the ‘free-run’ wine. The wine undergoes a natural malolactic fermentation, after which a small amount of sulphur dioxide is added.
Recommendation
Redman Shiraz is an excellent wine to pair with roasted meats or hearty stews.
