Schnaitmann 2019 Vintage - Jancis Robinson Tasting Notes

Schnaitmann Reviews from Jancis Robinson.com written by German Specialist Michael Schmidt

SCHNAITMANN STEINWIEGE WEISSBURGUNDER TROCKEN 2019

16 Points, 12%, Drink 2020 – 2022

“Non-Germans will probably find the description of the fragrance resembling the smell of buttermilk not very helpful, an inadequate transposition into lactic and buttery. Faint notions of vanilla and clove lend assistance. Although quite velvety on the palate’s first impression, it does follow up with a crunchy grip of grapefruit and green herbs, accompanied by gentle acidity.” - Michael Schmidt
Everyday and summer wine, have with asparagus, steamed vegetables, risotto, light river fish dishes, white fried meat, dumplings, mild Asian cuisine

SCHNAITMANN, STEINWIEGE GRAUBURGUNDER TROCKEN 2019

16 Points, 12.5%, Drink 2020 – 2022

“The smell of fresh rain on earth and delicate notions of stone fruit and hazelnut shape a gentle but nevertheless intriguing fragrance. On the palate the hazelnuts definitely leave a lasting impression, notes of sorrel and green fruit pair up with a sherbety expression. Lively, fresh, but a cut above stereotypical Pinot Grigio.” - Michael Schmidt
Everyday and summer wine, pair with asparagus, stewed vegetables, Risotto, Pasta, mushrooms, dishes of light freshwater fish, sautéed veal or pork meat, poultry.
