Richard Rottiers Jancis Robinson Reviews

Julia Harding from Jancis Robinson reviews Richards Rottiers in the article "Beaujolais current releases – mostly 2018 and 2019"

Dom Richard Rottiers, Mortperay 2019 Moulin-à-Vent
16.5 Points - 13%, Drink 2023 – 2028

“Certified organic. Whole-cluster semi-carbonic maceration.
Lightish cherry red. Scented with both fruit and a hint of vanilla sweetness, though it is apparently unoaked. Delicate and inviting. Really pretty but also with some depth and spice. Pretty dry on the palate, on the lean side but balance has been kept. Needs time for this to take on more of that Beaujolais-Pinot character which fine Gamay often does.” - Julia Harding

Dom Richard Rottiers 2019 Moulin-à-Vent
16+ Points - 13%, Drink 2022  – 2026

“Organic certification. 50-year-old vines. Semi-carbonic maceration, whole clusters.
Mid greyish crimson. Smells a little riper than the Mortperay with a touch of cinnamon adding sweet spice. Dry, taut and lively, the tannins more corset-like than framing at the moment. This really does need time but it is also pretty dry overall. ” - Julia Harding
