Peter Franus Reviews

Peter Franus 2012 Red (Red Hills Lake County)
94 POINTS Editors’ Choice

What a great break from boring commercial red blends! This vibrant but deep wine from the Fore Family Vineyard at 3,000-feet in elevation has beautiful spicy aromas like black pepper, cardamom and tar, distinctive flavors of cranberry and black cherry and a taut texture of fine-grained tannins and good acidity.

2016 Peter Franus Albariño (Napa Valley)

This lovely white is sourced from one site, the Stewart Vineyard in Carneros. It offers incredibly inviting aromatics and high-volume freshness, a nice combination that's balanced and ready for seafood. Peach and apple crispness further define it.

2014 Peter Franus Red Wine (Napa Valley)

Blending sizable portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with Cabernet Franc, this approachable mix opens in a succulence of cherry and berry that remain juicy through the fleshy midpalate and finish. The oak is wellintegrated and the tannins softened.
