Mental Health Awareness Week - What it Means to be Different
ABS Wine Agencies, Mon 15 May 2023
Mental health matters! Join us in spreading awareness and understanding about supporting our mental health.
We are pleased to be working with What it Means to be Different, a cider brand conceived to raise awareness of diversity without discrimination, with the proceeds going to support hospitality, with 1:1 therapy sessions. Developed with Herefordshire cider producers Little Pomona and created with the awareness project Wrestling Demons, these ciders are made 100% from juice, not from concentrate. The bold packaging and name were devised to ask an open question and to start a conversation.
There are two ciders in the range:
Sparkling Cider (aka Street Food Champagne!)
Made from lower-in-acidity dessert apples and bittersweet cider apples, this is a cider that’s designed to be easy-drinking and welcoming. Naturally unfiltered, and therefore cloudy, this sparkling, naturally fermented table cider has a gentle sparkle and medium tannins, with a wonderful orange and fresh vanilla fruit taste which pair brilliantly with food. With an appealing 7.5% alcohol it’s great to share over lunch, as a celebration, or welcome drink. Bottle conditioned with no added sulphates. View Here
Still Cider (aka Neighbourhood Dining Cider)
A class act, this still cider is made from Dabinett apples aged in barrels that come from the prestigious right bank of Bordeaux’s wine-growing area (whilst we’re not allowed to know their precise provenance these are classic St.Emilion or Pomerol puncheons, 500 litre oak casks).
Viscous from ageing in red wine barrels, its rich golden colour is immediately appealing, with a sweet, delicious nose that embraces you with gentle vanilla oak in the background. This rich fruit is maintained through the palate, which caresses with its weight and gentle, sophisticated style.
With an appealing 7.3% alcohol, it’s great to share over lunch. Bottle conditioned with no added sulphates. View Here
