Ronan Sayburn MS will be chatting to Gary & Kathy Jordan, founders of award-winning Jordan Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa about the establishment of their beautiful property over the past 40 years and their journey in changing a once-neglected property into a world-class estate.

2018 Jordan Unoaked Chardonnay - Tasting Note
2017 Jordan Nine Yards Chardonnay - Tasting Note

2015 Jordan The Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon - Tasting Note
2015 Jordan Cobblers Hill Cabernet Sauvignon - Tasting Note

They will be tasting through 6 wines from Jordan Estate, each one expressing the unique geology and diversity of soils and slopes that enable both red and white varieties to flourish. The white wines include 2 expressions of Chardonnay for which Jordan Wine Estate is famous, (the ‘Unoaked’ as well as ‘Nine Yards’, their Single Vineyard Reserve) and their classic ‘Inspector Péringuey’ Chenin Blanc, a variety that is making waves in South Africa. Of their red wines, they will taste ‘The Prospector’ Syrah and the ‘Long Fuse’ Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as their ‘Cobblers Hill’, a single vineyard Bordeaux-style red blend from the highly acclaimed 2015 vintage.

In response to climate change, the Jordans are currently busy with a vineyard replanting programme in Stellenbosch, including the planting of drought resistant, ancient Mediterranean varieties such as Assyrtiko and in South-East England they have purchased Mousehall, a medieval farm where they are planting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and building a gin distillery and winery.
