Intense, concentrated sweetness, but with a crisp palate cleansing apple acidity, a deeply comforting contrast to chilly December nights. Its rich, velvety texture mimics a fine dessert wine, making it an elegant, festive alternative. A bold profile pairs beautifully across an entire Christmas menu, from pâtes and terrines, pungent blue cheeses to festive desserts and nutty tarts.
Brännland Cider started out in 2010 in Umeå, a university town 600 kilometres north of Stockholm, with a dream of making great cider using apples grown in the cold climate of northern Sweden. Founder, Andreas Sundgren, has already had a considerable impact in the cider community by producing the only ice ciders made according to the Quebecois laws, using the naturally cold winters of northern Europe. The range includes a number of ice ciders, at least on a par with the very best sweet dessert (grape) wines, through semi-dry, to juicy acidity. - Find out more here
Brännland Iscider 2022 • 6 x 37.5cl
The vintage is characterized by a high sweetness elegantly balanced by the high acidity that has become one of Brännland Iscider’s hallmarks. The use of naturally occurring yeasts gives the fruit more space in the finished wines. The apple varieties in the 2022 blend are dominated by Mutsu, enhanced by Cox Orange, Kim and Gloster, and a light touch of the vinous Belle de Boskoop.
Brännland Iscider Barrique 2018 • 6 x 18.7cl
Amber with a crystaline clarity, the nose is reminscent of the forest floor with touches of grassiness, walnuts, browned butter and toffee. In the mouth the sweetness is balanced by juicy and tart with a long structured finish. The dominant apple variety is Ingrid Marie and the robust vintage of 2018 has deepened and darkened further as a result of the barrel ageing.
